With the intention to utilize and maintain distributed systems, there is a need to use what is typically known as system management software. Assuming an enterprise is big enough and has operations spread out significantly enough to guarantee a distributed system, the benefits are particularly self evident. For a growing enterprise, there happens to be cutoff point at which it becomes impractical to do individual installations on each station, and sort through the paper and electronic trail left by every single user in an effort to centralize the complete setup.

Almost all of the enterprises commit limitless hours and disproportionate amounts of assets investing in individuals to manage their infrastructure for them. An advantage of infrastructure management is that there are individuals there on a regular basis that are looking out for the network and always ensuring that it is operating at its very best.

Installation & Management: Fast and easy automation for new installations and upgrades is the core benefit. A company with a handful of computers all located in the same office can do individual installations. But it gets harder when a company has a large setup and a gazillion computers. Introduce system management, and the problems go away, the entire process is now streamlined and automated and needs a lot less effort and manpower.

Remote management means that you are paying an individual or provider to monitor your networks at all times. This means trusting someone, but it also means that you don't have to wait for something to go wrong to call someone in order to help you. It also means that a problem can be fixed as soon as it pops up instead of waiting for it to grow and grow and possibly have a domino effect on the whole system, slowing or shutting everything down.

Many companies go with it because it is more cost effective. While you have to pay for the assistance, you may find that the basic service to have the system monitored is very low and even when there is a problem that needs to be addressed it is more cost effective to have the problem fixed remotely instead of having someone come out to the office and fix the problem.

Monitoring: A huge improvement in monitoring capability is one of the biggest advantages here, other than cost effectiveness and automation. Since the data on the network can be monitored, it is possible to make adjustments to more effectively manage peak periods and down time. Employee monitoring helps management keep an eye on employees and detect work patterns.

All in all, having the system management done by a person with competence and through the use of a superior level of change software, you can rest be rest assured of the maximization of the performance level of your system and networks.
